Pretty chilled out and on the quiter end. Cool environment, nice staff but mainly great food! Loved the stuffed shrimp and seafood pasta!
Good service. Great food. My wife had the trout and I had the halibut. We will return. Dean
Tasty and fresh seafood prepared in an amazing way. The place is small and a neighborhood type of cuisine, where service is friendly and fast. Highly recommended for a quiet dinner
A very good evening 4 dinner, great folks there,Sophie was the best, took care of us well, will be going there again and again
Some of the best oysters on half shell I have had. French onion soup 10 out of 10. Service phenomenal. I true hidden gem in San Francisco
Best duck salad I’ve ever had in my life! I dined at this restaurant a little over a year ago now and just came across it trying to find it again. I can honestly say this is the best restaurant I’ve been to. The environment is perfect, the servers, the crowd they attract and the food!
A local favorite for decades! Always fresh food and order too much! Great place for date night or night out with the family in law.
Came for the happy hour oysters which were a good price and tasty. Everything else on the menu was aggressively priced and looking at dishes coming out, they looked tiny.It feels like they were using oysters for customer acquisition since they were extremely rude that we didn't order anything other than oysters. They also tried scamming us with water - we asked for water and they brought out bottled. We immediately clarified that there was a cost and that we just wanted normal water.
Really sweet staff, happy hour oysters and French onion soup was great
Fresh delicious oysters. Great ambiance.
One piece of fish was raw in the middle. The other was very good. I would have given a higher overall rating, but all three appetizers ordered were sub standard (French onion soup, escargot, and seafood stuffed mushrooms)
This was our final meal of our San Francisco vacation and it was a great way to cap a wonderful trip to California. The food was delicious and the service was terrific. Highly recommend the Dungeness Crab special if its available!
The seafood is topnotch at this quaint hole in the wall location in Nob Hill. Their signature plates are cooked in traditional French style, wrapping the fish in parchment paper surrounded by veggies. The local sea bass I had was so juicy and flavorful I could barely look up from my plate. Definitely get the lobster bisque it's phenomenal and you will go through more bread than you want to to soak up every drop off it. The stuffed prawns were almost too rich but, that didn't stop us from clearing the plate. Go here! It's amazing!
You need to make this restaurant part of your stay in San Francisco. Skip the big names and crowded/noisy restaurants on the wharf and come to friendly, intimate dining here. The attentive wait staff and the exceptional oysters ($15 at happy hour and three different kinds) and tender flavorful paper cooked fish will delight you. Another perk it is on the Hyde Trolley line stop.BTW ask for a table by the window.
Always a favorite when in the city. Great food and friendly service
seafood at this spot - delicious. Food was so fresh. Prices are fair.
Good food, cozy accommodations and friendly service.
Was there for Oyster happy hour. They gave us a basket of bread and some butter and said it was "complimentary". We had a large group and the basket was not enough for even one piece per person. We asked for another basket (since it was complimentary) 4 times before we actually got it after getting second round of drinks and oysters. They also like to rev up the bill which I guess is not unusual :/ My overall experience was just ok
Good hangout. Awesome happy hour and flight options. Great place to bring friends with the large tables. Even the bar has a cool setup. Saw the bartender going up the ladder to get "top shelf" drinks! Will return to watch games!
Great locals spot. Old school SF!
We had a very nice dinner with our friends here, tried the crab cakes, the spicy prawns and the chowder for starters. I had my first Cioppino (as far as I can remember) and really liked it, the others had some fish in papillote, potato crusted salmon and Cajun style prawns and scallops - all very good. The bread pudding was hot and delicious, the creme brulée light and fluffy and the secret coffee was interesting ;o). Enjoy!
The sea food in my dish was insignificant very little amount for very expensive dish
Came at a great time in the evening and the mussels were good as an appetizer and had the seafood pasta as entree. It was really tasty 😋 and I’d definitely be returning for a second visit.
My wife had sea bass cooked in parchment paper and I had king salmon cooked the same. Both were amazing. It is quiet place on Nob Hill.
Steak was shockingly bad
Amazing service. Our server was very attentive and had an in-depth knowledge of oysters. A sea of calm in San Francisco.
Happy Hour is the best at this lovely and romantic spot. The oyster selection is amazing at an amazing deal. If they have Fanny Bay's go for it!
I was pleasantly surprised by the clam chowder and happy hour oysters here. I missed out on Swan's oysters because they closed so early, so found Hyde Street tucked away. The service was nice, the price very decent, and I left with a full stomach. Might be a little secret hideaway or something.
Good service. Great foods and good prices during happy hour (5 to 7 PM).
I had the most delicious Hyde Street Seafood House & Raw Bar here! Not sure if the mix was made in house, but it definitely seemed like it. We also had the calamari, which was tender and came with fried jalapeños and onions. The calamari was a bit greasier than the last time I can so taking off one star for that reason alone.Hyde Street Seafood House & Raw Bar
Escargot was gamey, but lobster bisque was good. Salmon was fresh but came with an odd red wine sauce. Stuffed prawns were fair, a little mushy. Very good service.
It was very good for eating seafood and it was worth the money! Great !!!!!
Relaxed atmosphere with excellent local seafood. Drinks are a little overpriced, but not the focus of this establishment. Try the parchment baked fish!
Food was very acceptable. The service was very good .
Food and service was amazing! My husband and I went out as a last dinner before our baby comes and had the most wonderful time! We got in a bit late but did not feel rushed at all and that is saying something considering we ended up leaving an hour after closing! We got the escargot and two of the crab dishes it was all fantastic!! Our server was so kind ,I'm sad we didn't catch her name. All in all I would highly recommend!
My preferred location for delicious Seafood. I give this place double thumbs up. The staff was sociable and attentive. The place has a great feel to it. I see why this place has a lot of great reviews.
Great happy hour prices for the oysters! Please take friendly service and good main course of Halibut!
If I had endless money (not that you need it here) I would eat at this restaurant every night. The sea food is bomb and they're lovely people. FYI. We're SF locals not tourists .
Very good oysters, well presented. Price had a strange fluctuation from one dozen to the other but could've been my misunderstanding of happy hour. Cool place
The house specialties are the raw bar and parchment wrapped seafood. Excellent oysters and very good parchment wrapped fish.
papillote is always perfect and oyster happy hour is splendid
Great food and excellent service 🙏🏻
Come here for happy hour before 7pm for the oysters. 12 for $15.
Delicious stuffed prawns and nice environment
Went for happy hour oysters and to satisfy a craving for lobster bisque. The decor is nautical and kind of quaint, which I love. The service was great and the food was delicious. I felt bad that we didn't stay and have a main course, but we just wanted a quick bite. Recommend checking this place out.
This place is absolutely phenomenal. We were served by Michelle who was warm and friendly and offered top notch service. We ordered the oyster platter and the sauteed mussels. They were beyond exceptional. We are so pleased and will definitely be coming here again.
Service and oysters were great!
I enjoyed the seafood however I expected more in portion size and plate presentation. Fine dinning but served on a diner plate. The food was very well seasoned and delicious.
All of their food was good. I got the stuffed rainbow trout. My husband got the lobster ravioli. It was all delicious and food came out quickly (within 15 min). Fun stop while on trolley but had to walk down the road a bit from trolley stop.
